Lions! Tigers! Bears! Oh, my!
The end of February marked my mom's 60th birthday {she's a leap year baby} so she hopped on a plane and headed down to Florida to spend some time with her kiddos and grand-kiddo. We did so much while she was here, including a trip to our local zoo.
I told our little one that the penguins got dressed up in their tuxedos just for her.
Our little gal had the opportunity to get up close and personal with a goat inside the children's petting zoo. I was so nervous and afraid that goat was going to hop up and knock her over. Luckily for me, the goat must have been 110 years old because it wasn't budging for anything.
The "elfans" as she would say were one of my favorites of the day. I'd give anything to be able to feed it a peanut or two.
Grandma and my little peanut at the penguin encounter.
She really, really wanted to catch that feathery little guy.
Not quite soaking wet yet.
Luckily we had diapers and a spare t-shirt in the diaper bag. Otherwise it would have been a wet ride home.
What a fun time we had!!!! Just the girls...all three generations! It was one of those days you save and store away for a long time.
I could've handled the weather to be about ten degrees cooler, but you get used to that here in the sweat state...I mean sunshine state.
xo,
Jen

Such great memories you are making! Seeing Caroline with the goat reminded me of pictures I have of Meredith when she was Caroline's age and we were at the zoo. Love you!
ReplyDeleteWe went to the zoo this week for spring break and the kids loved it - my daughter's favorite animal was the giraffe - you can buy a large piece of lettuce here and actually hand feed them
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable little girl!! Thanks for following my blog, I'm now following you back! :-) sewloveit.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteSo many things I miss about Fl...having horrible sweaty hair and a beet red face in every pic because it's 90,000 degrees in "spring" not one of them. :) But you ladies managed to still look lovely. Cute pics!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! Penguins are always one of my favorite exhibits too. Gotta love time with Grandma! Thanks for checking out my blog and following. Returning the favor! :D

When you talk to the animals they talk back - where did that come from? A song maybe? Perhaps a blogger will know? Just the same, enjoyed following your day at the zoo. Know that you had a grand time.
