Before and After Shoe Makeover

You all know that we have a little one at home and if you have little ones like me {or big ones too}, then you know how quickly they go through shoes.  I bought a pair of little fuschia shoes for our gal and I think she wore them four times before she outgrew them.  Well, she has a couple of pairs of shoes that DO fit her, but needed a little facelift.

Materials
cotton fabric scraps
organza fabric scraps
felt
buttons
mini bobby pins or flat hair clips {a must}
Fabri-Tac
**use a leather or upholstery needle to make the shoe topper permanent**

Before

See the scuff mark on the left shoe?

I love these silver ballet flats, but I wanted to change out the bow.

So I snipped the thread that held it into place.

To replace the bow, I decided to use a flower made from organza. To make the flowers out of organza, check out my tutorial here.  Once you've threaded your pieces together, it should resemble a little flower.  Make a small circle out the felt and glue to the threaded side. See yo yo version below.

I made these fabric yo yo's on my blog last year.  To see the tutorial click here

When you glue the bobby pin to the yo yo, slip a little paper between the two so the bobby pin doesn't stick together.

Let them dry for at least an hour.

I loved how these turned out so much I think I'm going to try it for myself!

Have fun!
