Since I have tons of time doing nothing {enter laugh track here}, I decided to try my hand at a little embroidery. Nothing big, just a few stitches like this and this. Since I have a million scraps of fabric invading every space of my already cramped sewing nook, I decided to make a scrappy Christmas tree with a little embroidery to embellish it. I was inspired from a picture I found in Stitch Craft Create. Okay, here's what you'll need...
{Materials}
fabric scraps
embroidery floss
hoop
buttons
5 x 7 white cotton fabric
frame
three various sized circles to use as templates
I started by color coordinating about six different fabrics. They're not overly Christmas looking, but a couple greens and reds help. It will all come together in the end...I promise.
I used Word to create the circle templates. To give you an idea, they vary in size from a dime to a quarter.
I laid out my circle cuts and buttons before attaching anything.
Under the tree, I freehanded the word "Believe" and used the stem stitch to sew over it.
Here's the finished tree...in need of some serious ironing.
